Love this poster. I'd also love it if Australia could get onboard and change the Marriage Act to allow two consenting adults to marry should they choose.

Shim Sham

I was meant to have learned the Shim Sham tonight in dance class - kind of a line dance, but swing-style. Except, I'm terrible at it. Granted, it was my first crack at learning but...there's not many excuses available for being such an unmitigated disaster on the dance floor.

So, I thought I'd have a look around youtube.com to see if I could find other people doing it the right way, and came across a clip of Al Minns and Leon James doing their version of it (very different to the number I had a go at tonight). These guys really know how to move; it comes as naturally as breathing to them. There's lots of clips on youtube of them strutting their stuff - suffice to say I'm jealous.

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

So, I've only just started my new job, and have yet to be paid; this means that in total, I'm without pay for just over 5 weeks. And I spent two of those weeks traipsing around WA.

But... I stumbled across these beauties while shopping with a girlfriend today, and I think I'm in love. I'm trying to be fiscally responsible, but am drawn - moth to a flame-style. Plus, adding to the temptation, the lovely sales-lady mentioned that they'll be down to the bargain-basement price of $195 on Wednesday.

Wild flower season, wild weather, wild horses. I need another holiday in WA.

Dancing!

I dance on Monday nights and it makes me supremely happy! In the lunch room today I saw a flyer for beginner ballet lessons with 2ballerinas (part of Queensland Ballet - I'm contemplating making it two dance lessons a week.

Here's just a small ode to the happiness that swinging out with a bunch of randoms every Monday brings me.

My bestie introduced me to Dancing with Myself by Nouvelle Vague while driving around Margaret River just over a week ago - super cute stuff.

A holiday in photos

I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks, on holiday in Western Australia to celebrate completing a Bachelor of Law. The best part is that I've just found out that I passed my final subjects, so I can breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to come clean to the law firm I commence with tomorrow.

Quite obviously, the Hipstamatic app played a large part in recording the days I spent in Perth, Margaret River, Augusta and Dunsborough.

The Green House was pretty special. A small tip though - if you order the chicken salad, have a quick look to make sure it contains chicken; it was sadly missing from my friend's order.
